Hello
I’m Sarah Muboyayi, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am dedicated to supporting individuals and couples who are navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, mood disorders, or patterns that no longer serve them. I offer a grounded, evidence-based path toward feeling more balanced and connected, and improving your psychological, emotional, and physical well-being.
My Background and Values
Before pursuing a career in psychotherapy, I completed my Juris Doctor and Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Ottawa. I began my career as a lawyer where I gained a deep understanding of the challenges individuals, couples, and families face during times of conflict, transition, and emotional strain.
My work in law showed me that legal solutions alone often don’t address the full human experience. This insight inspired me to shift my focus toward supporting people on a more personal and transformative level through psychotherapy. I now bring the same dedication, clarity, and compassion from my legal background into my therapeutic practice.
Grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration, my approach is shaped by the belief that every person carries resilience and the capacity for meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and emotional well-being.
My Approach to Therapy
My work is collaborative and focused on building insight, resilience, and meaningful change. I help clients understand the patterns that shape their experiences and develop practical skills to move toward healthier relationships with themselves and others.
I draw from evidence-based approaches including:
-
Psychodynamic Therapy
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Drawing from these modalities allows me to tailor treatment to each client’s needs, whether the goal is managing anxiety or mood, strengthening communication, exploring attachment patterns, or making sustainable changes in behaviour and daily life.
Who I Work With & What I Help With
I offer virtual psychotherapy to adults and couples across Ontario. I also provide early morning availability (starting at 6am) making it easier for those with busy schedules to access care.
My areas of focus include:
-
Anxiety and panic
-
Burnout
-
Depression and mood concerns
-
Chronic illness and psychosomatic concerns
-
Relationship and communication issues
-

I also have a special interest in supporting individuals coping with the psychological impacts of burnout. I am passionate about developing accessible resources for young women seeking recovery and a healthier relationship with work and themselves.
